Ghana Gold Scam

The Ghana Chamber of Mines announced here on Thursday that it had uncovered a scam involving a firm that had been using the name and corporate logo of Goldfields Ghana limited, one of its member companies, to dupe foreign gold buyers.

These criminals lured their unsuspecting victims with offers of gold dust and bars produced in Ghana, the chamber said in a statement.

It urged the public to report any fraudsters to the police for actions, saying that:

“Anyone who receives a notification for the sale of gold dust or gold bars purported to be coming from Goldfields Ghana limited or any other mining company should not only disregard the said offers but also report the incident to the police.”

Reiterating that its members were committed to good corporate governance practices, the chamber made it clear that “in the sale of gold our members do not seek out individual buyers or users.”

Gold is one of the major foreign exchange earners of the West African country, formerly known as Gold Coast.

The Ghana Chamber of Mines is the main minerals industry association in Ghana, representing the collective interests of companies involved in mineral exploration, production and processing in the country.

Fraudsters and con artists have for some time invaded the gold industry and were using the internet and e-mail to dupe prospective gold buyers.

Perpetrators of business fraud in Ghana, especially the prevalent gold scams, often target foreigners.

Several foreign businessmen had reportedly been defrauded in diverse ways as a result of the activities of the fraudsters.

Gold merchants, who claim to be in possession of large quantities of gold dust or gold bars, offer to sell them below market prices.

These fraudsters like to tell their business partners that they had jewelry shops all over Europe and wanted them to buy gold from Ghana.

Most of them also advertise the availability of the commodity in bulk quantities for sale on the internet and other specially and carefully designed websites.

In Ghana, all gold agents must be licensed and transactions certified by the precious minerals marketing company before businesses are transacted.

Gold is normally sold in Ghana in the smelted form, that is bars, and very rarely in the dust form.

American businessmen have reported substantial financial losses from questionable transactions involving gold and other precious metals in Ghana in recent years, according to the U.S. Department of State.

These scams typically begin with an unsolicited communication (usually by e-mail) from an unknown individual who describes a situation that promises quick financial gain, often by assisting in the transfer of a large sum of money or valuables out of the country.

A series of “advance fees” must be paid in order to conclude the transaction, such as fees to open a bank account or to pay certain taxes.

The final payoff does not exist, and the purpose of the scam is simply to collect colossal amount of money from the victim.

Fraud warning from the U.S. State Department regarding gold offers from Ghana
Strict customs regulations govern temporary importation into or export from Ghana of items such as gold, diamonds and precious natural resources. Only agents licensed by the Precious Metals and Mining Commission, telephone (233)(030) 266-4635 or 266-4579, may handle import-export transactions of these natural resources. Any transaction without the commission’s endorsement is illegal and/or fraudulent. All transactions must be completed through the commission at the price set daily by the London exchange. Any transaction that discounts this price, or includes a previously negotiated price, is either illegal or fraudulent. Export of gold dust is rare as it encourages dangerous and environmentally destructive practices, and transactions involving the export of gold dust are probably fraudulent. Attempts to evade regulations are punishable by imprisonment. It is advisable to contact the Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C., or one of the Ghanaian consulates in the United States, for specific information regarding customs requirements.

**Please note Anil Machado’s blog or Anil Machado does not sell gold, diamonds or any other commodity. Incase if you received any private message or email claiming to be Anil Machado then beware its some scammer trying to use a different method to cheat you.

I’ve recently condemned the focus on Reza Aslan’s religion – Islam – when talking about his new book about Jesus, “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth”. I think there is no room for propaganda when reviewing history. No one is objective. But we can try to be truthful.

Putting aside the thesis of his book i.e., that Jesus was an anti-Roman Jewish revolutionary, in all his interviews, Aslan goes out of his way to refer to Jesus’ Judea i.e., the land of the Jews, as “Palestine”. For all I care, he can call it “Nebraska”, as long as he doesn’t give the impression that this is really what it was called by the inhabitants of Judea in Jesus’ time. But Aslan wraps this “Palestine” name with a veneer of history. When challenged on his use of the name “Palestine” for ancient “Judea”, his answer is that he’s using the “Roman designation” for the area. According to Aslan, this designation was “Syria Palestine”. This is absolutely wrong. More than this, it demonstrates a certain cynicism when manipulating history for the purpose of ideology. Let’s look at this word “Palestine”. Where does it come from?

In the 13th century BCE, the Egyptians speak of “Sea People” arriving on the Mediterranean Coast from the Aegean. It’s widely accepted that one of these “Sea People” are the people that the Bible, in Hebrew, calls “Plishtim”. In English, they are called “Philistines”. They roughly occupied an area on the Mediterranean Coast from Gaza northward, to Ashdod in modern Israel, and inland to the city of Gath. These are the people of Delilah and Goliath. I repeat, they were an Aegean people from the area of modern day Greece.

The archaeology demonstrates that when they arrived around 1200 BCE, they were – in diet, art, and habits – pretty Greek. They resembled, say, the people of Crete or Mycenae.

The Book of Exodus refers to a land corridor along the Mediterranean as “Derech Plishtim” i.e., “the highway of the Philistines” (Exodus 13:17). In this passage, the name seems to be generic. In other words, in the late Bronze Age, say, 1500 BCE, “Philistine” seems to be a generic term for Aegean people that we would call Minoans or Mycenaeans today.

So far, so good. There were an Aegean people called “Philistines” in the area of modern Israel from around 1500 BCE when they came as traders to 1200 BCE when they settled down, to the 7th century BCE when they disappeared after the Assyrian invasion of the area. During the 500 years that they were settled there, they became increasingly more “Canaanitish”. During the period of the Judges (14th to 10th century BCE), they were the arch-enemies of the Israelites.

After the Philistines disappeared from the historical stage, the name “Palestina” lingered on. Meaning, the people were gone, the name lingered. It appears in references here and there in classic Greek writings e.g., Herodotus. By the time Jesus was born, there hadn’t been any Philistines in the area for some 600 years. The name does not appear anywhere in the Gospels. And the people living in Judea at the time of Jesus – including Jesus and all his disciples – would never have referred to their country as “Palestine”. Even the Romans didn’t call the area Palestine. Remember, when they crucified him, the Romans put a plaque over Jesus’ head with the inscription – in three languages – “King of the Jews”, not the “Philistines” (Matthew 27:37; Mark 15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19).

Some 35 years after the crucifixion, some 4 years after the stoning of Jesus’ brother James, the area of Judea erupted in a massive Jewish revolt against Rome. The country fought between 66 CE(AD) and 70 CE. In August of 70 Jerusalem, the capital of Judea, was destroyed. The Temple of God which had lasted for some 1,000 years in two incarnations, was now in ruins – a smoldering heap. This was the Temple that Jesus wept over when he imagined its destruction (Luke 19:41). Judea fought for another 3 years at the rock fortress of Masada by the Dead Sea. Then, in 73, as the Romans were about to conquer the fortress, rather than become Roman slaves, the last Jewish defenders took their own lives and the lives of their women and children.

At this point, the Romans felt that there was no one left in Judea that could rise in revolution. They were wrong. From 115 – 117 CE, the Jews – primarily outside Judea – fought a bitter war with the Romans. The main centers of revolution were Alexandria in Egypt, Cyrene in modern day Libya, and Cyprus. The Jewish revolt basically saved the Parthian Empire from a Roman onslaught. After they licked their wounds, in 132 CE the Jews of Judea once again rose in revolution – this time under a leader called “Bar Kochba” i.e., “the son of the star”. When the Bar Kochba revolt was finally put down in 135 CE, the Romans exiled the majority of the Jewish people and renamed Judea “Palestina”. To be clear, “Syria Palestine” officially became a Roman province about a century after Jesus’ crucifixion. The idea was to erase the Jewish presence from Judea and to designate their homeland with reference to their Biblical enemies. It was a last humiliation. To also be clear, there were no Philistines at the time and even if some had miraculously survived, they were not Arabs but Greeks.

The area of Palestine never became an independent state. In the 7th century, Muslim armies conquered it, precipitating battles with Christian crusaders for the “Holy Land”. These bloody battles are now remembered as the “Crusades”. In modern times, the province of Palestine passed from the Ottoman Turks to the British. In 1922, the British gifted a chunk of Palestine to the Hashemite clan from Saudi Arabia. In 1946, 80% of British mandate Palestine – the area east of the Jordan River – became the modern Arab Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. One year later, 20% of British controlled Palestine became what is today the State of Israel and the Palestinian territories.

But to return to Aslan, it’s bit of a name game, isn’t it? If the British had called the area east of the Jordan River “Palestine” instead of “Transjordan” i.e., “over the Jordan”, no one today could say there is no Palestinian state. If you write a book about Jesus and you call his country by the name that he called it i.e., “Judea”, the politically correct armies of anti-Israel activists may get upset with you. So Aslan calls ancient Judea “Palestine” and hides behind the reference to the “Roman designation” for the province. This is very cynical. It’s very cynical to fudge the history of the Aegean Philistines 3200 years ago, lingering references to their name, and the Roman province of the second century CE. It’s very cynical to retroactively place modern Arab Palestinians into Jesus’ Jewish Hellenistic world.

But let’s say the Romans had called “Judea” “Palestine” in Jesus’ time – which they didn’t – why would a writer focusing on Jesus as a Jewish patriot i.e., a Zealot, want to call Jesus’ country by the name that his enemies used? It’s as if I wrote a book about a native American hero and kept referring to him as an “Indian”, because that’s what white people called him.

Professor Aslan, you are right to decry the use of propaganda against you. But, as they say; do unto others what you would want them to do unto you. In Jesus’ day, his country was called Judea, and the overall designation for the land was “Israel” – as it is today. You can argue about politics, but let’s not change history to suit our views.

PARLIAMENTRY committee on #DEMONITISATION submits its report. Calls it a BLUNDER. NOT A SINGLE OBJECTIVE has been met. #PRESSTITUTES won’t show it!

•No major BLACK MONEY found

•FINANCE minister accepts that it has only details of 4172 CRORES of suspicious money which could be BLACK.(while MODI had predicted that 5-7 Lakhs CRORES would have been BLACK)

•Neither “CASHLESS” nor “LESScash” society formed as Fin min was projecting. People have shifted back to cash transactions.

• ‘BHARTIYA MAZDOOR SANGH’ an affiliate of #BJP reports 4 crores JOB LOST, 3 LAKHS INDUSTRIAL units SHUT

• Report questions decision making authority and terms all decisions to be taken without planning.Like  Size of currency not planned acc to ATMs, 2000 Rs note brought in without any smaller denomination note to exchange,no considerable amount of currency printed for supply which lead to HUGE RUSH IN BANKS AND ATMs,rules changed on daily basis proved FLAWED PLANNING. Till date ATMs remain dry in RURAL areas and many other small cities.

• FAILED planning has led to now cut in expenditures of GOVT on health, education etc.

• EDUCATION SECTOR remains most affected as funds have been stopped, fees has been hiked, seats have decreased for research.

•TAXES have been increased, intrest rates on PPF and other saving schemes reduced.
Now question arises who will held responsible for all this #ORGANISED BLUNDER?? Who will be held responsible of 30,000+ CRORES spend on print ing new currency and CRORES spent on its distribution and all other expenses like advertisements, transportation, extra pay etc etc.
• WHO will be held responsible for 180+ deaths during whole process??
#PRESSTITUTES have been asked NOT TO TELECAST this report. They have been warned not to bring it to light. Rightly Dr Manmohan Singh termed it as “ORGANISED LOOT”

Why CNN Anti-Trump?

Saudi Arabia stockpiled over $116.8 billion of U.S. Treasuries as of March 2016, the Treasury Department announced on Monday, ending four decades of keeping the figure secret.

That makes Saudi Arabia the 13th largest foreign holder of U.S. debt, though well behind the $1 trillion-plus owned by China and Japan each. The Saudi figure was first reported by Bloomberg News based on a Freedom of Information Act request.

The new Treasury report also revealed that the Cayman Islands, a country of less than 60,000 people, owned $265 billion of U.S. Treasuries as of March. That’s the third-highest sum in the world and a reflection of the nation’s status as a major tax haven. The Cayman Islands does not have a corporate tax, encouraging multinational companies to store vast sums of money there to avoid taxes.

Likewise, Bermuda, another popular tax haven, is sitting on $63 billion of U.S. debt. Previously both the Cayman Islands and Bermuda were lumped together in a group of Caribbean banking center nations.

It is possible that Saudi Arabia owns even more U.S. debt than what was revealed on Monday. That’s because Saudi Arabia’s central bank listed owning $587 billion of foreign reserves as of March. Typically, central banks park the majority of their foreign reserves in U.S. Treasuries. In other words, the numbers don’t really add up.

One possibility: Saudi Arabia could be taking a page out of China’s playbook. Many analysts believe China owns U.S. debt through custodial accounts in Belgium, a relatively tiny country that listed owning over $154 billion of U.S. Treasuries as of March.

In 610 AD: 100% non-Muslims lived in the Middle East.  Today, after 1,400 years of racist ethnic cleansing by Islam: At most 5% non-Muslims living in the Middle East. Islam has begun the same process in Europe & US.

“Media mogul

Alwaleed already has high-profile stakes in media groupsNews Corp, Time Warner (CNN’s parent company), andWalt Disney.

“The answers might surprise you (or maybe not). Ever wonder why CNN and Time are so blatantly pro-islamic & Anti-Trump . Ever wonder why these weasels want are tooo eager to toe liberal / islamic propaganda/Anti-Trump??

A good chunk of AOL Time Warner is owned by Prince Alwaleed Ibn Talal the Saudi billionaire. It is well known that Prince AlWaleed is a front for the Saudi royal family. All of the oil money that is swindled from Aramco the Saudi oil company is “invested” by Prince Al Waleed and his company.”

“And he added $450 million to existing shares in AOL Time Warner. “The price was very cheap at around $23,” the prince said.

“I believe in the power of the AOL brand and I am already a shareholder in this global media giant. Therefore, when the price reached lucrative levels, we decided to increase our stake. The weakness in AOL’s stock price is temporary as it reflects the temporary weakness in several areas in which it is involved,” Alwaleed said.”

Rupert Murdoch and Saudi connection.

The phone hacking scandal bruised Murdoch’s reputation and prompted questions about his leadership of the company. But Alwaleed, who has had shares in News Corp. for many years, remained loyal throughout. Even as he acknowledged in 2012 that the scandal was “not helping the name of the company,” Alwaleed gave a vote of confidence to the embattled Murdoch.

“We have a strategic alliance with Rupert Murdoch for sure and I have been with him for the last 15 or 20 years,” Alwaleed said. “My backing of Rupert Murdoch is definitely unwavering.”

Alwaleed expressed similar feelings in a statement on Wednesday, saying that Kingdom Holding Company is both confident in News Corp.’s management and “fully supportive of Rupert Murdoch and his family.”

Al-Waleed is Citigroup‘s largest individual shareholder, the second-largest voting shareholder in 21st Century Fox, and owns Paris’ Four Seasons Hotel George V and part of the Plaza Hotel.

No wonder CNN and other mainstream media in US is Anti-Trump.

There are perfectly sound reasons to be against Trump and to like CNN, but to deny that CNN is biased against Trump is to deny the obvious.

Beyond political bias there is propaganda and beyond propaganda there is disinformation and psychological warfare.

What CNN has been up to,openly, for at least the last 6 months is way beyond bias and somewhere between propaganda and political/psychological warfare.

Since the start of the campaign, “Trump bashing” has been a theme of many of CNN’s political programs like those hosted by Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon. If you have been watching these programs, you would have realised even the hosts are biased against Trump – facilitating the Hillary supporters, interrupting and disputing the Trump supporters and even denouncing Trump themselves. In recent weeks as Trump surges in the polls ahead of Hillary, this “Trump bashing” somehow intensified.

Somehow, CNN has a vested interest in keeping the Democratic candidate afloat. When Hillary lied to the CIA and failed to disclose her pneumonia health issue, CNN barely mentioned but when Trump did the slightest thing that incurred the wrath of the Democrat supporters, CNN would go all out to nail the entrepreneur and blow the issue out of proportion.

I believe the media should not be used as a political tool to promote (or denounce) any candidate. It should be unbiased in its reporting. But unfortunately, things are not what we expect them to be and the establishment has to go if America wants to see any changes for the better. There is simply too much corruption in the White House.

CNN like all other major news outlets is currently experiencing the fourth stage of a social movement life cycle. Decline. Meanwhile Donald trump is taking advantage of the second stage of a social movement life cycle. Growth. Here is a basic outline of the four stages of a social movement, and how they apply to today’s political environment.

STAGE 1: The Emergence of a social movement.

The current social movement is that the American people feel like they cannot trust the supposedly objective media, or the people who run their government. Both the liberal and conservative masses are tired of having their emotionally charged convictions reduced to strong opinions that can be voiced at home, but not in the town square. While the other side rants and raves at full volume.

Conservatives feel like they cannot even watch tv with their children. Every sitcom and every movie seems to have a gay or transgender character telling them it is normal to not be who God made you. While liberals are enjoying a taste of freedom, feeling that they can express who they are without judgment or oppression. Only to be met with hostility when it becomes evident that all things are not equal.

In 2008 Obama took advantage of the first stage of this emerging social movement. He showed up on the scene as the “new guy” the political outsider with “fresh idea’s” and won the opportunity to have a historic presidential bid as the first black president. Those in favor of the things he stood for felt that he was going to do great things, those who opposed it felt their hands were tied, and they were being over-ruled by an agenda they did not agree with.

STAGE 2: The Coalescence of a social movement.

Coalescence: It is no longer just a general sense of unease, but now a sense of what the unease is about and who or what is responsible. This is the stage when the social movement and the issues it focuses on become known to the public.

In 2016 Donald Trump simply inverted everything the last 8 years has represented and took advantage of the second stage or the coalescence of this social movement. Those who are done with political correctness, the professionals telling them how to think, what to do and not do, and those who are tired of politicians that ruin the economy, change the way it is measured and say, “oh look how much good we have done.”

Trump’s supporters are not even close to being concerned about the future. They are in fact quite optimistic. They are in favor of the things he stands for and they feel that he is going to do great things. While those who oppose him feel like their hands are tied, and they are being over-ruled by an agenda they do not agree with.

Donald Trump being a total outsider gets to take advantage of the fact that we are only in stage two of this current social movement. He can shame the media whenever they try to shame him. Even if the media is 100% right and he is a 100% wrong, Trump gets to push back and most of his supporters, and even some who do not support him will think it is awesome that he did not have to be controlled by the biased media.

Per the agenda of this current social movement, people are tired of the media and the professionals treating them like they do not know how to think for themselves, and even going so far as telling them how to think. They are tired of not being able to stand up for their emotionally charged convictions. They are tired of being lied to about how great things are, when everything in their life, and their neighbors life points to the opposite.

STAGE 3: The Bureaucratization of a social movement.

In 2020 if Donald Trump has consistently convinced companies to invest in the American economy, even if he does it at a slower rate then Obama did, Trump will get re-elected just so that the work he is doing can continue. If in 2024 Trump has met the requirement of his base to Make America Great Again by convincing companies to invest in the American economy then Mike Pence will be the third vice president in history to succeed his boss and be elected President of the United States of America. If Trump only succeeds at doing the opposite and Makes America Scared Again, then a hot shot democrat running on the message of Hope and change will become the 46th President of the United States.

STAGE 4: The Decline

Right now professional politicians are in stage four of their social movement. They have not proven they know how to create an environment where most people feel they have unlimited opportunity. They have instead proven that when banks offer bad loans, and desperate people accept those offers, and the whole economy hits the tank because of it, the government will bail out the bank, but not the homeowner. This is how it is viewed, it does not even matter if it is true. How do explain to the people who lost their homes that no preference was given to Bank of America or Wells Fargo, or any of the other banks that received bail out money?

Professional politicians have proven that when Wall Street investment companies make bad investments, or renewable energy source startups waste their initial investment, or when major companies with a lot of employees get into trouble, they will bail them out, and at the same time make life harder on the small business owner. Go ahead and try to tell the small business owners who are required to meet tougher standards just to stay in business, and who pay higher tax rates then the big companies that it is about scale, not special interest lobbying companies like Boeing, AIG and Morgan Stanley.

The media is also in stage four (decline) of their own social movement cycle. They are no longer the trusted source they used to be known as. In fact all you have to do to figure out what is going on with the media is read Donald Trumps twitter. The media reports something Trump says it is not that way, and Trumps twitter is the honest truth, while the media gets labeled as fake news. The media has been doing this to themselves since before they declared Dewey the winner and Truman the loser the night Truman was re-elected. Now technology allows people to get their news from someone they feel will be honest with them. Even if they are flat out lying.

The media, and the professional politicians are going to have to ride out this fourth stage of decline for quite a while unless they get on board with the idea that the average person wants results they can measure in their own personal life. Not just a bunch of hype about how great things are, when they can see very clearly in their own life, that things are not ok. If Trump can convince a company to stay in the US and even if that company only decides to keep 1/2 or 1/3 of the jobs they were going to cut. Trump has done more for the average American then any newspaper, television station, radio broadcaster, or professional politician. That is just a reality that comes along with stage 2 of this current social movement.

This movement will not move to stage 3 or stage 4 until we go around stage 2 a bunch more times. Electing more outsiders, and history making presidents. First black, first asian, first mexican, first woman, first person to be elected office without any prior government or political experience. Outsiders who offer solutions that have been ignored by the professional politician in years past.

If you do not like the way it is, learn to get involved and make a difference. After all it’s not like your going to say something that might offend someone, or do something that will disqualify you. Trump already said something worse than you could think of, and he already did things most people do not agree with, and he still got elected president.
