pumpkinHalloween is celebrated by millions of people as a fun time for kids, putting on costumes, and going door-to-door to get candy. But it is also known as a time of witches, ghouls, goblins, and ghosts. On one hand, some see halloween as a harmless time of fun and on the other, a ghastly and demonically inspired night to be avoided.

As Christians, there is a lot of debate on whether or not we should participate in Halloween. Is it alright to go trick-or-treating? Can we dress our kids up in costumes on that day? If we do any of this, are we celebrating an evil holiday?

Halloween’s Origins

The word Halloween is derived from the term “All Hallows Eve” which occurred on Oct. 31, the end of summer in Northwestern Europe. “All Saints Day,” or “All Hallows Day” was the next Day, Nov. 1st. Therefore, Halloween is the eve of All Saints Day.

Apparently, the origins of Halloween can be traced back to ancient Ireland and Scotland around the time of Christ. On Oct. 31st, the Celts celebrated the end of summer. This was important because it was when animal herders would move their animals into barns and pens and prepare to ride out the winter. This was also the time of the crop harvests. This annual change of season and lifestyle was marked by a festival called Samhain — pronounced ‘sow-ane’ and means ‘end of summer.’ Sow rhymes with cow.

There was much superstition associated with this time of change including the belief in fairies, and that the spirits of the dead wandered around looking for bodies to inhabit. Since the living did not want to be possessed by spirits, they dressed up in costumes and paraded around the streets making loud noises to confuse and frighten the spirits away. In addition, the new year began for the Celts on Nov. 1. So, the day of Samhain was believed to be a day that was in neither the year past or the year to come.  Since it was in between, chaos ruled on that day. Often, people would pull practical jokes on others as a result.

Later, around the 5th century, as the Catholic Church developed and moved into the area, instead of adding a new day to celebrate, it took over the Samhain celebration. Nov. 1st became “All Hallows Eve” where all the saints of the Catholic church were honored. A later custom developed where people would go door-to-door on Nov. 2, requesting small cakes in exchange for the promise of saying prayers for some of the dead relatives of each house. This arose out of the religious belief that the dead were in a state of limbo before they went to heaven or hell and that the prayers of the living could influence the outcome. This may have been the precursor to Trick-or-Treat.

The Jack-O-Lantern apparently comes from Irish folklore about a man named Jack who tricked the devil into climbing a tree. Once the devil was in the tree, Jack carved a cross on the trunk, preventing the devil from coming down. The devil then made a deal with Jack not to allow Jack into hell after Jack died if only Jack would remove the cross from the tree. After Jack died, he couldn’t go to hell, and he couldn’t go to heaven. He was forced to wander around the earth with a single candle to light his way. The candle was placed in a turnip to keep it burning longer. When the Irish came to America in the 1800’s, they adopted the pumpkin instead of the turnip. Along with these traditions, they brought the idea that the black cat was considered by some to be reincarnated spirits who had prophetic abilities.

So, it appears that the origins of Halloween are a mixture of old Celtic pagan rituals superstition and early Catholic traditions.

What does the Bible say about Halloween?

What does the Bible say about Halloween? Nothing. But it does speak concerning witches, the occult, and paganism.

Exodus 22:18, You shall not let a witch live.

Deut. 18:10-12, “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD…”

The Bible definitely speaks negatively about occultic practices, spirits, and witches and condemns not only the practice but also the people who are involved in it. As Christians, we are to have nothing to do with the occult. Tarot Cards, contacting the dead, séances, lucky charms, etc., are all unbiblical and can harm a Christian’s fellowship with God and open the Christian to demonic oppression. Most Christians know this and avoid these activities. But, the question still remains. Since there are ancient pagan connections and present occultic connections, what is the Christian to do?

Can the Christian celebrate Halloween?

The answer is simple: Yes and No. Let’s look at the negative first.

The Christian is not to be involved with or support the occult, witchcraft, demonism, or any other thing that uplifts the occult. To do so is to contradict God’s word, dabble in demonic spirits, and invite judgment from God. If a Halloween celebration is centered on demons, devils, spirits, etc., I would say don’t have anything to do with it.

On the other hand, it isn’t wrong to dress up in a costume and go door-to-door saying “Trick or Treat.” Provided that the costume isn’t demonic, I can’t see anything wrong with this.  It’s just fun for the kids.

Take a look at the Christmas tree.  It was originally an ancient fertility symbol. Yet, it has become a representation of Christmas and the place where gifts are placed. Are the Christians, then, paying homage to an ancient pagan fertility god? No. Not at all. They do not consider it pagan at all and are simply joining in on a cultural event and giving no honor to anything unbiblical.

In the Bible in 1 Cor. 10:23-33, Paul speaks about meat sacrificed to idols. This meat was often sold in the meat market and the question arose, “Should a Christian each such meat?”

Paul said in verse 25, “Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience’ sake.” This is most interesting. He says it is okay to eat the meat bought in the market place even though that meat may have been sacrificed to idols.

Then in verses 28-29 he says, “But if anyone should say to you, ‘This is meat sacrificed to idols,’ do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for conscience’ sake; 29 I mean not your own conscience, but the other man’s; for why is my freedom judged by another’s conscience?” (NASB). Paul is saying that if you find out the meat was sacrificed to idols, don’t eat it — not because of you, but because of the other person. In other words, eating that meat won’t affect you. But, it may affect the attitude of another who does not understand the freedom the Christian has in Christ.

Is it any different with Halloween (or Christmas)? No. Even though Halloween has pagan origins, because of your freedom in Christ, you and/or your kids can dress up in costumes and go door-to-door and just have fun. However, if you are not comfortable with doing this, then you should not. If you know of a person who would be hindered by doing it, then you shouldn’t either.

When a devout Christian starts his journey of faith, decides to conform himself or herself in the image of Lord Jesus Christ and understands the love of God. It’s necessary that as first steps the follower realises that the most important element that will hinder ones spiritual journey is “Profanity”. The book of James specifically warns us of misuse of tongue. You may wonder why do I identify profanity, it’s because the Bible  warns us of the evil use of language and its improper use. Words convey ideas; they are vehicles of communication. It is, therefore, the idea associated with an expression that can create an evil word pattern. For example when someone uses foul language or speaks to me in a profane way, it only shows that person’s evil pattern toward’s me.

Profanity is used for shock value in expressing anger and humor. The words often are associated with sexuality and filth. Names of the Deity are used to bring additional potency and irreverence to the expressions. It is worth noting in our politically correct culture that the blasphemous use of the names of God and Jesus Christ are not regarded as “hate speech.” The New Testament also commands believers to be pure in speech by controlling their tongues: “With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things should not be this way” (James 3:9-10). Christians should honor the purpose of speech by using our mouths to praise God and leading others to obey the Lord through faith in Jesus Christ. Every word we speak should be “gracious” and “seasoned with salt” (Col. 4:6). We should always ask, “What would Jesus say?”

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, LORD, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

2 Timothy 2:16 “But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”

The Word of God, reminds us to flee those worldly lusts and greediness to obtain material wealth, and instead to seek and follow after those Spiritual Treasures which are able to make you Rich in Christ Jesus our Lord! and we are also reminded to shun “profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.” It’s important that we not only refuse to take part in such things as ungodly and useless babbling, any speaking that is without thought or without self-control in fact, but we also should shun such things! We should look down upon it, speak against it, not to listen to the other person who speaks profane to us and show from the Word of God that it is not edifying to the hearer, but instead is the opposite: increasing unto more ungodliness! We have to remember that our words originate from our hearts, as our Lord says in Matthew 12:34 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” So we must remember to watch our words and guard against such ungodly or even unprofitable speaking! Remembering always that every word we speak, is recorded and will be made known, and we will have to give account of them all in the day of judgment: Matthew 12:36 “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Guarding our words and watching what we say is equal to guarding our hearts against ungodliness, and watching what we introduce into our hearts!

Our words are not meaningless nor are they powerless to change those who speak them and those who hear them. As it is said in James 3:3-6 “Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” Though our mouths seeming small compared to the other members of the body, and though the words seem small compared to our other actions, they are by no means small in what it produces! If we speak ill things toward others, or toward ourselves, such will defile our bodies. If we speak good things of others, or of ourselves (not boasting, just speaking in a godly manner), we will strengthen and enrich our lives!

For these reasons, we are told in those verses, to shun profane and vain babblings. We most certainly should refrain from profane babblings, and shun them when they are present in others! That which is profane, is evil and ungodly. We must keep from, and rebuke, that which is said in an ungodly manner. Whatever may be said out of spite or with a lack of love, we must rebuke. Whatever may be said to harm another, or to make others view another in a poor light (excluding our speaking the Truth, though this should still be done lovingly and in a way meant to help: “This man is a blasphemer!” say also, “Be careful and don’t follow his words or actions, but follow God’s Truth!” even, “Don’t be around him often, you don’t want him to rub off on you!”). All things which are ungodly, or are spoken unloving, should be rebuked! Those things which are ungodly, clearly should be shunned and not be named among us. And speech, though it may seem a harmless thing, should also be rebuked because Truly it is like a fire that will increase unto MORE ungodliness within those who hear it, and those who speak it!

We are also told in those above verses, to shun VAIN babbling! This means our words should not be just spoken without thinking. We shouldn’t babble on and on about such fickle and worthless things! As I’ve heard it said, speech is a blessing from God, if we’ve been given it, why waste it? We should seek to not speak empty and vain words, but rather let us speak whatever we speak, to the edification of whomever hears us. Let us speak words, that whomever may hear our words, will be helped, and not walk away with nothing! As said in Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” We mustn’t babble, most definitely we mustn’t do so without thought. We have to think before we speak, even pray before we speak! If we can’t think of something nice to say, then as the saying goes, don’t say anything at all. Instead we should wait and listen . . .We should wait for that which is good and edifying to the hearer to come to us, before we speak! As we are told in James 1:19 “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” Let us be more willing to listen, than speak. And when we do speak, let’s speak so that the person hearing us, walks away having gained something good.

Now, this doesn’t mean we should hesitate when speaking the Word of God. For the Word of God is good, and should readily be spoken. Always remember though, that when we do speak the Word of God, pray beforehand, that your words are wise, and well-said!

In all this, we must remember to not only keep it from our own lives, but we are to shun profane and vain babblings. They will only amount to more ungodliness!

The Scriptures speak of “filthy” talking (Eph. 5:4). According to Greek authorities (see Baur, Danker, Arndt, Gingrich, Greek-English Lexicon, Chicago: University of Chicago, 2000, p. 29), the term “filthy” (aischrotes) entails “behavior that flouts social and moral standards, shamefulness, obscenity” while “shameful speech” (aischrologia – Col. 3:8) denotes “speech of a kind that is generally considered in poor taste, obscene speech, dirty talk.”
“Lascivious” speech (cf. 2 Pet. 2:18) is that designed to conjure up illicit sexual images and ideas. “Corrupt” (morally unwholesome, harmful) communication (Eph. 4:29) is likewise condemned. “Foolish (literally moronic) talking” is speech that reveals a stupid mind, while “jesting” suggests off-color humor (cf. Eph. 5:4).
What is rather disconcerting is the fact that some professed “Christians” vigorously defend the use of filthy language in books and movies under the guise of artistic license; they contend that opposition to such is “anti-intellectual”
The Greek word bebeloo is twice rendered “profane” in the New Testament (see Mt. 12:5; Acts 24:6). It is defined as “to cause something highly revered to become identified with the commonplace, violate sanctity, desecrate, profane” (Danker, 173). Surely it is not difficult to conclude that this category of irreverence is perpetuated in many common expressions today. And it hardly minimizes the transgression to euphonize the use of sacred names by disguising the format – as in, “Good gosh!,” “Golly!” and the like. An unabridged dictionary will reveal the derivation of these terms to those who have sufficient interest in their vocabulary.
The Christian must strive to keep his speech pure, such as facilitates edifying (Col. 4:6). One must try to refrain from the vulgar, the irreverent, and the reviling abuse of language that is unbecoming to the spiritual person.

We are all pretty much educated and rational, so I don’t want to add any words of fanaticism on this topic. Somehow the long history of bitter Polish-Russian relations and history of betrayal & murder. Makes me really question the current scenario in Poland. Since WW2 till 1989 the entire Polish population has been fed with pro-Soviet government supported lies, why I shouldn’t wonder that this incident of Smolensk air crash is a similar lie. This is the beginning of Communist strategy of deception & disinformation. I was sure by the Russian invasion of Georgia in 2008 that soon Poland will be under threat. However, the signing of the missile defense shield treaty between Poland & USA had put a pause on Russian intentions. George W Bush was a hard nut to crack for the Russian, but the coming of Obama saw the Polish-American missile defense shield breaking off. This gave a push to the Russians to continue their act against Poland. With Obama getting elected and Poland loosing its American support, President Lech Kaczynski had a surge in opposition from within and soon he was not the favorite. Now an equally strong and pro-Russian party wants to defy the odds of Kaczynski’s, conspiracy theory is not the order of the day. But the entire Polish top brass gone, the country is open to the new leadership. Although Lech Kaczynski was good for Poland in terms of economic reforms and maintained adequate GDP growth. The indecisiveness and lack of getting the nation together was the only demerit for him. There was no clear distinctive ideology for the new breed of Polish citizens. The former Presidents since 1989 were not very strong on international diplomacy and many wrong decisions taken, like taking part in Iraq war, going against the top order of EU and much more.

What the government failed was to build the confidence of Polish people, making them independent, creating for them good employment opportunities, infrastructure and attracting international investments. The government didn’t optimize the resources and thus creating red-tapism, corruption.

If Poland has to continue and grow as a powerful country, they need to come out of the Soviet shadow, throw the Russian ghost out of the closet and concentrate on internal reformation rather than international politics. Secure itself as strong business nation, use its resources, trade & commerce are the only means by which the nation can withstand the current economic turmoil. Poland needs to create a platform for international investments and parallel enhance its tourism trade, still untapped by the rest of the world. The method of business is the best way that a country can become a sustainable economy. By which employment opportunities increase proper health care & infrastructure. Any international disputes only retard the countries growth and keep the nations busy in it. Business mind politics today is the best method for a country to convert foes into friends. Make the invested countries depended upon Poland, so that they don’t look at Poland with imperialistic goals or political issues.  The best example can me taken from the GCC countries in Middle East, despite being Islamic countries they have been able to keep Iran, Russia, China, Korea, USA, UK , India, Pakistan & others deeply interested in business in GCC. The result GCC countries have made their own population 100 times richer then what they were before 30 years. These countries are not embroiled in political disputes, as their agenda is only business & diplomacy. Country like UAE which doesn’t have much oil strives purely on trade, commerce & tourism. UAE in desert has the best infrastructure in the world, which has become a large tourist attraction.

I feel Poland has to change their perspective on reforms, politics and have a broader view on economic growth. Poland has the ability to become strong economic nation in Europe, and then they could head for the world scene. But the government has to first change their thinking cap so that the rest of the population starts following the same path. It’s not the difficult path but the most secured way a nation can transform in this century. We don’t live in 17th or 18th century, today no nation wants to entire war because the repercussions are felt by both the oppressor and victim nation.

I am not sure on the agenda of the new elected government will be in Poland , but I hope they get this message and create an economically friendly Poland for all Americans, British, French, Russian, Chinese, Indians, etc…

People from the developing nations and rest of the world should say “ I want to go to Poland to earn money and make a good future”, that’s what the most of the people did in last thirty years “Lets go to Gulf countries to make future”….Poland can do it if they change their agenda. I know I started this article on a political note and ending it on business conclusion, but now days Poland is become a 2nd most hot topic around the world and everyone is creating a hype about Poland’s political instability and thus misleading the Polish people and making them more emotional and hostile towards its neighbors’. Now it’s not a time to resent and sleep in the past memories, but if Poland needs to teach a lesson to its rivals they need to do it in such a way that the response has to be economical might.

In the same manner as the famous command at the Indianapolis 500 Speedway, “Gentlemen! Start your engines”, I say to you mothers, “Mothers! Prepare your children”!

A Proverbs 31 mother has children who have watched and listened to a great woman – God’s woman. The children have seen you work hard within your very own household!

15: She … giveth meat to her household….

18: … her candle goeth not out by night.

19: She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

21: She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

25: Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26: She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27: She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

The final product of all this work is in verse 28… Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

30: Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. God’s woman has her priorities in the proper order!

31: Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Your works regarding your own children can either praise you!

Proverbs 23:24, 25 … he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. … thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

Or else they can shame you! Proverbs 29:15b … a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Proverbs 10:1 … a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Proverbs 15:20 … a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 23:22 … despise not thy mother when she is old.

Proverbs 19:26 He that … chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

A Godly mother would not want her son to grow up into a mess!

A life of crime – A life of wickedness – A life of mistakes – A life without God

Proverbs 20:20 Whoso curseth … his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

Proverbs 28:24 Whoso robbeth … his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

Proverbs 30:17 The eye that … despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Jeremiah 20:14 Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

We can know from Proverbs 6:20,21 that the mother is the law enforcer around the house. My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. The father establishes the law from the Book – and mom enforces it and dad backs her up as she follows his plan and design (from the Book, of course) with his leadership of the family as a whole. As the kids start out young, mother sees to it that God’s words are bound into their precious little hearts and are tied about their little necks. As they get older, hopefully those words will be bound and tied permanently.

Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As parents, we should know the importance and value of this Book in regards to our children!

I Timothy 1:9,10 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

We know our children can be blown about by winds of doctrine (Eph 4:14), so we need to bind sound doctrine upon their hearts and tie sound doctrine about their necks! Boys can wear necklaces, but the kind that they should wear is the necklace of sound doctrine, not the jewelry of the world.

Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

We lead our children towards the Kingdom of God and help them walk in the Kingdom of Heaven by being obedient to the Book! Their lives will be enriched and strengthened beyond our parenting imagination – and they will be kept from Hell! Proverbs 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Proverbs 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

Mothers, here are a few goals from the Scriptures to help you prepare your children.

1) Prepare them to be born again! You have already been through one delivery and you thought that was hard! Raising your child from birth through their ‘safe’ years and getting them ready for them to realize when they ‘die’ so that they can be born again is no easier than the first birth, amen!

Romans 3:20; Romans 4:8; Romans 4:15; Romans 7:9; John 3:1-7

2) Stand by them during their hard times! When Jesus was on the cross, Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother … John 19:26 Jesus is there for us in the fire, amen – Daniel 3:25, and until these little kids get to know Jesus other than just knowing about Him, mom, you stand in the fire with them and bring Jesus Christ with you!

3) Guide your children to love God more than you and their dad! Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Getting them to love God means they need to love God’s words more than your words and dad’s words – so to avoid any conflict there, you had better make sure that your words and God’s words are not different.

Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

I Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Philemon 6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

4) Prepare your children for battle! Our children need an understanding of the times, NOW! A good soldier knows his weapon and has practiced with his weapon and will know how to use their weapon in a time of battle. A good Christian knows his sword – his Bible. Like cleaning a rifle with your eyes closed, a good soldier for God should be able to find the right verses in his Bible when needed! I would like to encourage you to help your little children learn how to ‘mark’ their Bible. Throw out those curriculum booklets, etc. and take them to the Book just like we do here as adults.

Our children have a wicked world coming – wickedness that matches Noah’s day. Bible versions have already become commonplace in almost ALL churches! Tongue Speaking already takes place in almost ALL churches! Music has already become a power in almost ALL people! The messages of Unity, Peace and Love has permeated all of society! Politics has gone past corruption .

Will your children be ready?

Will their own book be ready?

Like mom and dad are? or Will they wish they had been better prepared?

Will they wish their book was better prepared?

Like mom and dad wish? or Will they just go along with the system to make a buck – to have a family – to have a career?

Like mom and dad are?

As we try hard to get them ready for the whole armour of God, we must still help them prepare the book that they already have in their hand. “Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.” Jeremiah 48:10

Mom – get their pen/underliners/notes & help them get their sword ready! If you start now, some day, your children will arise up, and call you blessed! … he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. …thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice. Proverbs 23:24, 25

The Christian Science Monitor posted an article by Alia Malek on American Jihadis: Blame violence-prone boys, not Islam

“Security experts tend to see only a threat of Islamicization and the incompatibility of Islam with American values.

Even Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed his fellow soldiers at a time when violent crime and suicide in the military are both on the rise, is cited regularly as an example of home-grown terror with little to no mention of other contributing factors” ( excerpts of her post )

She shows much compassion towards the act of Nidal Malik and indirectly blames on violence within the nation. Oh! This is absurd; there is no nation in the world which doesn’t have home ground violence. Where ever human society dwells, so does violence and crime. Now that doesn’t mean Nidals actions were the basis of home grown terror. Even countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Australia and all other nations have home grown violence and I have never heard any of those criminals blaming it on the violence within. The author tries to distract the readers from the very basic nature of terrorism and replaces it with merely with non religious crime. I wonder even the attacks on twin towers and the Oklahoma bombings were due to home grown crimes.

Does Ala Malek mean that Nidal Malik was a true American patriot, if she describes he acted because of home grown violence. That only shows that the action was a revolt against the government. I know USA has freedom of speech, but that doesn’t mean the pro-Islamic authors should mislead the American people. Until now Americans have been led into believing every lie of the government and the media. They have softened their stance on religious fanaticism. If US forces are fighting in Iraq & Afghanistan it doesn’t mean that US in involved in a religious war and US citizens should compromise the acts of terror on their own soil with such notions. Iraq & Afghanistan wars are total different agendas and both the US governments and Islamic regimes at the countries have served their own interests on the grounds of Islam & terror.

In her article Ala Malek has just written some of the most basic acts of violence, which is available in all countries of the world. She is trying to take these natural acts of home grown violence to cover the acts of terror. Terrorism and home grown violence are two different yet acts of violence against humanity. Terrorism is violence on a much more larger scale and people like Nidal Malik are surely encouraged by religious aggression. Home grown violence is on the local scale devoid of any society and not subject to religion, otherwise we will have all those hip hop bling bling boys blowing towers and shooting soldiers all over US.

The American should curb such religious violence and try to nip them in the bud. By giving extra mile and freedom to these Islamic radicals, America is becoming a breeding ground for more attacks on its soil in future. I know most American people are lost and confused or either turn a blind eye on such topics, but that only gives the radicals to become more and more stronger. Allowing ACLU and other anti-American institutions to rip of the freedom of common citizens under the blanket of their own version of freedom. Thus creating one more breeding ground for terrorists to act within the country with external support. Today the enemies of USA don’t have to fly down kamikaze planes all the way from Japan as happened in WW2. The enemies have their henchmen living in United States, all they need to do is excite these men’s religious feelings and they shall act against America or probably read certain verses from scriptures to create in the minds of listeners that this is a Holy war.

I had always hated the site of a hospital from the time i was a kid. I don’t know if most sufferings of Human beings have to be decided in a hospital or have to end there. Dont we have some other options, or why does God unleash such kind of ordeal on us, Why does he allow suffering?

I had visited a local government hospital in Mumbai after 20years, because my dad was admitted there. They scared him to death by Doctors telling him that how they were suppose to operate on him and how its going to be very dangerous operation and perhaps it could also be fatal that he might lose his voice forever. Not the disease but the words of the Doctor made him more depressed and sad. More sadness and depression befell upon my mother too. I dont know if the Doctors of present generation are trained that way, to speak to the patients outright as if these Doctors were given an agenda by the government hospital to kill patients even before they die.

Indeed this hospital doesn’t have pleasant site, i know hospitals don’t. But what i am speaking is about the hygiene factor. I have seen the slums cleaner than this hospital. Maybe the hospitals in India are supposed to be that way. However, it was after 20 odd years that i was back in an Indian hospital.

The dust on the ceilings and the walls has been settled there since years as if it’s some haunted mansion. spiderweb was a very common site. The nurses are impolite to the core, they treat patients worst then the convicts in a Jail. Every sentence  coming out of the ward boys/girls has 7 & half abusive words. These ward boys & girls have more jewellery on them than the celebrities. They carry more than a single mobile, their mobile instruments made me feel ashamed of my own mobile phone instrument, mine looked quite outdated and shabby. The Doctors here were just eager to attend as many patients as possible , as if they had a target to abruptly diagnose these patients.

I was waiting at the OPD with my dad , as he wanted to go for a check up. All of a sudden there were a group of Policemen escorting a gentleman. As they passed by these patients who were standing cos there was not enough seats. These escorting policemen were screaming on top of their voice and asking patients to move from the way, and one of the policeman even pushed aside a patient. I asked one person who is this high-profile gentleman and he responded that “This gentleman is the General Manager of Mumbai Municipality”. I wonder if this GM while passing noticed the unhygienic conditions, patients waiting not being attended, ward boys having fun with the ward girls, Doctors doing a noble work so unprofessional or maybe this GM was blind and that’s why the policemen were escorting him.

Each day passes and my dad feels the trauma and the excellent advise given by inhuman Doctors. He feels as if day by day he is more nearer to death. The medicine prescriptions just keeps on increasing as each day the Doctors want some new medicine. My mom had taken a medicare insurance from Royal Sundaram through Citibank and therefore she calls them last 15 days to understand the process of getting the health care insurance for my dad as the medical expenses keeps on soaring day by day. Now the Citibank & Royal Sundaram insurance customer service staff at the call centres keep my moms call on hold for over 30 minutes and finally she has given up calling them until she was in tears. What does Medical insurance stand for???

This experience of hospital has been more horrific for my parents than me and i just pray to God that this ordeal is over. My dad is finishing his operation safely and is speedy recovery track. I believe there’s God and he’s gonna help my dad and not these Doctors who just want to get one more surgery experience to their toll. Hospital Bed is a running taxi meter. God please don’t let people go to hospitals, when i die and stand in front of you God. I will not be bothered about judgement passed on me and whether i am going to heaven or hell or some other galaxy but i will ask you why did allow suffering for your children in this way and why do people have to go to hospitals, is it some kind of concentration camp for humans on earth….i pray that may all people be healthy and forgive me God if i am asking too much from you as a human being….with love

I am also you child God.
